Cookie policy
This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on PromptGenia, who sets them and how you can control them.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website or a third-party service stores in your browser. They can remember choices, measure visits or help show relevant ads. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a website save small amounts of data on your device. Unlike cookies, local storage is not sent to the server with every request.
Our own storage
PromptGenia does not set its own tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for the following items, which never leave your device:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pg_hist | Keeps your 20 most recent generated prompts so you can reuse them. | Until you clear your browser data |
pg_cookie | Remembers that you closed the cookie notice so it is not shown again. | Until you clear your browser data |
pg_lang_dismiss | Remembers that you dismissed the suggestion to switch to another language version. | Until you clear your browser data |
These items are necessary for features you use or choices you make, and they contain no personal identifiers.
Third-party cookies
Google AdSense and DoubleClick
When ads are shown, Google and its partners may set cookies such as __gads, __gpi and IDE (on the doubleclick.net domain) to serve ads, cap how often you see the same ad, measure performance and detect fraud. With your consent, where required, they may also be used to show personalized ads based on your browsing. Google explains the cookies it uses and their lifetimes at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and how it uses data for advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Google Analytics (if enabled)
If the site owner enables Google Analytics 4, it may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to count visits and understand how pages are used. By default these last up to two years. Analytics runs with Consent Mode and analytics storage denied by default, so these cookies are only set after consent where it is required.
Consent
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent message managed with Google's consent management platform when ads are active. You can accept, reject or choose specific purposes. If you do not consent to personalized ads, Google may still show non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention.
In other regions a short notice informs you that the site uses cookies for analytics and ads, with a link to this page. You can change your mind at any time by using the privacy options in the consent message, where shown, or by deleting cookies so that the message appears again.
How to manage or delete cookies
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data. Look for the privacy, security or site data section of your browser's settings, or search its help pages for "clear cookies and site data".
- Local storage: clearing site data for this website in your browser removes
pg_hist,pg_cookieandpg_lang_dismiss. Private or incognito windows delete them when closed. - Personalized ads: you can turn off ad personalization in Google's ad settings.
- Analytics: Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all websites.
Blocking all cookies will not stop the tools from working, although some ad and measurement features will be limited. Blocking local storage means your recent prompts and dismissed notices will not be remembered.
